Some teams started looking more normal. I think this is the situation that develops when veterans are allowed to completely skip training camp and most of preseason -- they aren't ready to play. The Packers and Patriots more closely resembled what we would expect. Backup QBs salvaged the Cowboys and 49ers. Let's see how this all affected the Power Rankings:
Power Rankings [Last week's position]
1. BUFFALO BILLS (2-0) [1] : Beyond a doubt, the scariest and toughest team in the league
2. Kansas City Chiefs (2-0) [2]
3. Tampa Bay Bucs (2-0) [3] : Even with a limited receiving corps, Brady is still dangerous
4. Philadelphia Eagles (2-0) [13] : What a move! Their defense tightened greatly, making them a real threat
5. Miami Dolphins (2-0) [5]
6. Jacksonville JAguars (1-1) [24] : Ahuge leap to get into the Top Ten (but hold on, it's not the biggest of the week!) as the Jags engineer an extremely rare shutout
7. Baltimore Ravens (1-1) [7]
8. New York Giants (2-0) [14] : A completely unexpected 2-0 start brings life to the Big Apple
9. San Francisco 49ers (1-1) [29] : Trey who?
10. Detroit Lions (1-1) [18] : The offense pounded Washington, but defense needs work
11. Denver Broncos (1-1) [19] : On the other side, a strong defense supports an offense still finding themselves
12. Los Angeles Chargers (1-1) [8]
13. Green Bay Pac kers (1-1) [31] : Now THIS us the Packers team we all expected
14. Cleveland Browns (1-1) [11]
Division Rankings
1. NFC East : This division has been near the bottom for the last three years, so this is quite a leap!
2. NFC North
3. AFC East : Two teams in the Top Ten Power Rankings really help
4. AFC West
5. AFC North
6. NFC South
7. AFC South
8. NFC West : The division expected to be the best finds themselves with three teams with double-digit negative point differentials. Not a good start
