Big Ten Report
Minnesota was upset, which was a surprise. This team cannot seem to be consistent. They play tough opponents hard, but relax too much against weaker opponents. Notre Dame had a much easier time against Wisconsin than I expected, so we have to wonder about the Badgers. Iowa's offense floundered a bit against Colorado State, but their defense stiffened and dominated the second half. Nebraska pushed Michigan State into overtime, which dropped the Spartans in the rankings. Western Kentucky stretched the Hoosiers' defense, which makes them looker weaker than they already were.
Upset Report
Not much to report here. Basically, aside from the aforementioned Minnesota loss, they happened at night. First Georgia Tech knocked off North Carolina, completely embarrassing them in a one-sided win. That may finish any chance North Carolina has to see the Top 25 this season, and it also shines a light on the Yellow Jackets. Let's see if they can build on that.
The late-night games saw the Oregon State Beavers completely dominate USC. That hurts the Trojans, but we don't know if it puts the Beavers into Top 25 territory. They have a history of outplaying one more dominant Pac-12 opponent each year -- this year, it might be USC. We will have to see if this game was a fluke or if the Beavers are truly a force in the conference.
